Claude and MCP
Finansial is an MCP server. Claude can record money, pay bills and answer questions about your spending.
claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude mobile
Open Settings โ Connectors โ Add custom connector, paste the URL below, and sign in to Finansial when Claude asks. The connection acts as you, in your most recent workspace unless you name another.

Claude Code
Create an API key in Settings โ API keys (read and write), then:
claude mcp add --transport http finansial https://finansial.zakiego.com/api/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer fin_live_..."
mcporter and other clients
Any Streamable HTTP client works with the same URL and an Authorization header. The server is stateless JSON-RPC: initialize, tools/list, tools/call.
The playbook
The server's instructions tell Claude to call get_playbook first. It explains the money model, the amount format and the safety rules: preview with dryRun, never guess an exchange rate, pass the version on edits. Its version hash is in the instructions, so Claude knows when its copy is stale.
Tools
whoami, list_workspaces, list_accounts, create_account, update_account, list_transactions, get_transaction, create_transaction, create_transfer, update_transaction, delete_transaction, refund_transaction, credit_card_summary, pay_credit_card, loan_schedule, pay_loan_installment, list_upcoming, net_worth, cash_flow, spending_by_category, analyze, budget_status, set_budget_line, get_fx_rate, list_members, list_activity. They're generated from the same operations as the app and the API, with the same permissions and the same audit trail.
Safety
A viewer's connection can't write. A read-only API key can't write. Every write records the connection's name in the activity log. There's no raw SQL tool: analyze answers questions from monthly totals scoped to the workspace.
